FOR SCOUT TROOPS

Parrot University is one of several successful educational programs sponsored by the Long Island Parrot Society. This program is a full-color and animated PowerPoint presentation that is designed to teach the proper care and handling of companion parrots. It also covers identifying the different species of parrots. Tailored for different age groups, a question and answer period follows the presentation. Then Scouts spend time interacting with the REAL parrots, brought along as teaching assistants (usually 5+ parrots at events).

This program can be used to complete the requirements to obtain several Scout patches (i.e.; Bird Care, Animal Care). A two-inch colorful parrot design patch is included for the Scouts (no patches for tag-alongs).
