"When I adopted Jake I had no idea what was ahead for me in my life, and how loving, joyous and friendly Jake would be. My husband Oswald has Alzheimer's Disease and I am starting to lose communication with him. But not Jake... they whistle together and 'Daddy' plays with him. He has a very sweet nature and he whistles some songs and sings Happy Birthday in English. When things are bad for me, Jake and my other 7 birds are there for me. Jake and I talk and he helps me through some of the darkest days. I would like to see him be the Bird of the Month because he deserves it and also since he was an adoptee from LIPS. He is a good talker and says very funny things. One day he tried to convince me that he was a good dog instead of a good boy like he usually says. He makes me laugh." - Dorothy |

*Bright, clear and close-up shots show up the best. Generally, birds are featured on a first-come first serve basis, but if you have a holiday-themed picture, feel free to pick a specific month to feature your bird as long as you don't mind waiting! (e.g. Halloween, Christmas, etc.) Thanks! |
