The Long Island Parrot Society presents Dr. Susan Friedman’s Alternatives to Breaking Parrots presentation on DVD as seen at LIPS’ Spring Break on April 29, 2006 in Freeport, NY. The insights, techniques and information packed into this 51 minute DVD have been turning points for many 'parrot parents' frustrated with their birds' behavior.

For quick reference, DVD liner notes include Dr. Friedman's ABA teaching tips to build positive parrot relationships.

Dr. Friedman has taken Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), which has been used in human education and applied it to parrots. The basis of this application is that we can change the behavior of our birds by changing the environment, including our responses. “Dr. Friedman has a wonderful way with communicating her ideas and getting the material across in a down-to-earth, personal way,” says producer Terri Pakula.

Proceeds from the sale of this DVD will help fund The Long Island Parrot Society’s educational programs.
